UMP Is Preparing Hybrid Learning

Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Banyumas, is preparing a new method of learning called “Hybrid Learning” combining face-to-face learning and online learning.

Rector of UMP, Dr. Jebul Suroso said that UMP has prepared various face-to-face learning devices and media, one of the models is Hybrid Learning.

“Vice-Rector 1 and the representatives of all faculties have prepared face-to-face learning and been ready to run the Hybrid Learning", said the Rector of UMP, Dr. Jebul Suroso, Purwokerto, Tuesday (4/27/2021).

In the Hybrid Learning implementation, the capacity of the classroom that actually can have 60 students will be cut into only 20 students,

Meanwhile, the Rector of UMP said that the other students will follow the learning outside the campus using a smartphone or laptop as usual.

"It's because we should keep doing proper health protocol. there will be regulations for students before entering Purwokerto, before entering UMP, before entering the classroom, and during activity in the class", he said. 

Furthermore, Vice-Rector 1 of UMP, Ir. Aman Suyadi M.P., said that UMP has purposed a permit to hold face-to-face learning, Hybrid Learning, to the Covid-19 task force of Banyumas. 

"However, this new method is a choice, the students don't have to take the face-to-face learning. UMP commit to giving services for face-to-face learning", he said.

Overall, Hybrid Learning will facilitate 3.000 students or approximately 30 percent of 10.000 the total number of UMP students.

The number of students who will join the face-to-face learning will around 10-20 percent of classroom capacity.

"We will make sure the maximum of the students who join face-to-face learning in the classroom is 30 percent of the capacity, the others will follow the learning online as usual," he said.
