The opening was attended by the Rector of UMP, the Director of International Affairs Office (IAO), the Dean of Faculty of Letters, the Dean of Faculty of Economy and Business, the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Fishery, UMP Lectures, and the Committees of this event.
The opening course was participated by more than 200 participants from more than 10 countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Sudan, Korea, the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Bulgaria, and Indonesia.
In this course that will be in 5 days ahead, the participants will learn about Exploring Banyumas Heritage and Culture by Faculty of Letters, Islamic Microfinance in Indonesia by Faculty of Islamic Studies , and Unique Tropical Agriculture by Faculty of Economic and Bussiness.
This short course is the result of a partnership between UMP and other universities. “I would like to thanks to our partner universities from around the globe especially from University Technology of Malaysia, Management and Sciences University Malaysia, Sofia University Bulgaria, and other universities from the Philippines, Bangladesh, and some other countries,” said the Head of IAO, Condro Nur Alim, Ph.D.
Besides all of the course agenda, there will be some performances that will blow participants’ minds such as Lengger performance, Wayang performance, etc.
Virtual International Winter Course 2021 was officially opened by the Rector of UMP by declaring It's opened through an online zoom meeting because Mr. Jebul Suroso couldn't attend the Grand Opening in person.
And then followed with the Opening from Faculty of Letters, Exploring Banyumas Heritage and Culture course by Chairman of the Committee, Sulasih Nur Hayati, S.S., M.Hum. welcomed to all participants by singing the traditional song of Indonesia “Suwe Ora Jamu” that the lyrics have been modified with English “Suwe ora jamu.. jamu sinten ngertos.. Hello how do you do… welcome to Winter Course…”
