FKIP UMP Send 13 Students to Malaysia for Teaching

The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) forces all members of community in the South East Asian (SEA) countries to be ready to compete with people from all SEA countries. To prepare its students of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) again hold the International Teaching Practice Program in Malaysia from 5 to 25 April 2019.

This activity is regular program collaboratively held by UMP and UTM to strengthen their partnership. In February, 9 students from UTM were also doing teaching practice program at schools in Purwokerto, Indonesia coordinated by UMP.

The delegates, led by Arifin Suryo Nugroho, MPd, (Vice Dean of FKIP) and Drs. Sony Irianto, MPd (Head of Primary Education Department), arrived in Malaysia on 2 April 2019. In this batch, FKIP UMP sent 13 students to UTM. They are Novia Krisma Damayanti, Agung Reza Destian, Dindi Anovia, Megasefi, Puji Dwi Kurniasih, and Candra Khaulatin Dewi from Department of Primary Education; Arif Pratama, Imam Santosa, Ris Khasanah, Elis Tiani, and Destriana Indria Pamungkas from Department of English Education; Zainul Arifin from Department of Geography Education; moreover, Desy Puspita Sari from Department of Mathematics Education.

“FKIP UMP always equips its students with skills and experiences other students from other universities may not have. And this is also a realization of our tagline – Start Here Go Anywhere. Meaning that the opportunity to experience going abroad is widely open for UMP students”, said Arifin Suryo. (Nov-kui)
