Bahasa Indonesia Scholarship of BIPA UMP

 

About the Program

 

BIPA Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) offers a scholarship to all foreign students to study Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia), art and culture at UMP. The main purpose of this program is to promote and increase the interest in the language, art and culture of Indonesia among youth of other countries.

 

 Scholarship Offers*

 

 - BIPA Scholarship (1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months)

The grantee will study Indonesian Language, Art and Culture. The periods of the study are 1 month, 2 months, 3 months or 6 months.

 

- Indonesian Art and Culture Scholarship (3 – 4 months)

The focus of this scholarship is to introduce the Art and Culture of Indonesia. The grantee will have an opportunity to study arts and cultures of Indonesia and Java in particular such as Javanese traditional dance, music, musical instruments, and handicrafts (Batik, Bamboo crafts, etc). This scholarship lasts for 3 – 4 months.

 

 * The scholarship is open all year

 

 Qualification of students

 

 - Preferably Student

 - Completed secondary education or its equivalent

 - Minimum age 17 years and Not older than 35 years of age

 - Unmarried

 - Able to communicate in English and additional Bahasa Indonesia (Proven by English Language Proficiency Certificate : TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or OTHER CERTIFICATE if applicable)

 - In good health as proved by Medical Certificate

 - Curriculum Vitae / Resume

 - Medical Certificate

 - Passport valid at least 18 months from time of arrival in Indonesia

 - Recommendation Letter (2 Persons)

 - Last academic transcript and certificates (in English)

 - Language certificate

 - Writing essay about purpose of study (in English or Bahasa Indonesia maximum 500 words)

 

 Coverage of Scholarship

 

 - Free accommodation + meal (3 times per day)

 - Living cost IDR 1.500.000/ month ( USD 112)

 - Free excursion program (once in three months)
